Mission, Goals, and Objectives

Mission: Prepare graduate-trained registered dietitian nutritionists who can advance professional practice to accelerate improvements in health and well-being through food and nutrition.

Goal: Prepare HNFE graduate-trained RDNs to be effective practitioners in a variety of positions in the field.

Objectives:

  • 90 percent of graduates will complete the program within 2 years and 6 weeks.
  • 95 percent of graduates will take the registration examination for dietitians within 12 months of program completion.
  • 95 percent of graduates will pass the registration examination for dietitians within 12 months of program completion.
  • 75 percent of graduates will secure employment in a nutrition and dietetics (or closely related) field within 12 months of program completion.
  • 90 percent of graduates will report they were adequately prepared to be an effective RDN practitioner in their first post-graduate professional position.
  • 90 percent of employers will indicate graduates were adequately prepared overall to be effective RDN practitioners.
  • 75 percent of employers will indicate that HNFE graduate-trained RDNs were very well or well prepared, compared to other entry level RDNs, to be effective RDN practitioners.

Goal: Prepare HNFE graduate-trained RDNs to perform successfully in emerging focus areas that align with the Academy’s standards of practice.

Objectives:

  • 75 percent of graduates will report that they were prepared in the emerging scope of practice areas related to counseling for behavior change.
  • 90 percent of graduates will report that they had adequate opportunities in the program to use emerging skills in dietetics practice.
  • 75 percent of employers will report that the graduate they hired was prepared in emerging professional skills for the area of counseling for behavior change.
  • 75 percent of employers will indicate that the graduate was prepared to advance the practice of dietetics.
