While completing my Master’s program, I served as an office assistant for the Virginia Family Nutrition Program (FNP) and helped to support a myriad of projects surrounding curricula. In my current position as the Curriculum Support Specialist for FNP, I develop curricula and support materials for the program, research innovative and evidence-based curricula for various target audiences, and assist with leading trainings on program implementation.
I am currently involved in a research project concerning the acceptability of Teen cuisine as a cooking skills-based nutrition curriculum. The purpose of this study is to conduct an evaluation of the Teen Cuisine curriculum and investigate the acceptability, feasibility, and appropriateness of the intervention by educators in Virginia and other locations where the curriculum has been adopted. This investigation will be used to establish the evidence-base for the Teen Cuisine curriculum.
