Janet Johnson

Biography
Janet Johnson, who retired in 2002, worked for Virginia Tech for 26 years. Prior to attending graduate school, she taught high school home economics before returning to school for her masters and doctoral degrees at Cornell University. She and her husband Jim were the recipients of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences "Hall of Fame Award" for 2015. This award honors significant leadership, service, and philanthropic contributions demonstrating Ut Prosim to the college, the CALS Alumni Organization, the university, and their community, and meaningful impact to the areas of agriculture and life sciences.
Johnson serves on the Roanoke Symphony Board and Rotary International (District Governor). She is also an Extension volunteer and a board member of Virginians for the Arts.
